New Media Workshop Lineup

There are many options out there for real estate professionals when it comes to education, advice and training on today’s newest online tools and networks. Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Google+, Quora, Dropbox, Evernote, Pinterest, Instagram, SIKKU… Do I need to go on?

For nearly 3 years, Chicago Title has been training valley agents on these tools and more.  Others have tried, or are just now starting up training programs, but Chicago Title is the only company that has consistently provided hands-on training that makes sense.  The question you need to ask anyone offering help with new media is simple:  Will I be able to (or have the time to) implement the strategies I learn today and still perform all the other daily tasks required to service my customers?

It is an important question.  Unless you have a huge staff or an unlimited marketing budget, many of the strategies taught today are nearly impossible for most agents to implement.

That is what makes every workshop or class brought to you by Chicago Title different.  Simple, yet effective strategies to help you grow your business.  And, nearly every workshop is hands-on, helping you through the toughest part of any online strategy – the set-up.

Below you will find the workshops currently being offered around the valley.  Contact your local sales rep for more information or check out our valley wide class and event schedule.

Facebook

Facebook is the Big Kahuna of today’s social media scene – at least for now.  In our Facebook workshop, you will learn how to use and set your account and privacy settings.  You will also be introduced to custom friend lists and learn some key strategies using these lists.  One thing we do not teach is how to create a Business Page.  Over 99% of real estate Facebook Pages need to be deleted.  There is no engagement and people do not go to Facebook to look for houses.

Bottom line, our Facebook workshop will show you how to use the greatest relationship building tool ever invented.

Twitter

Twitter is the most misunderstood of the big hitters in the social network world.  In this workshop, we show you the nuts and bolts of Twitter.com and help you set up a HootSuite.com account.  HootSuite is a social media dashboard that helps you manage multiple networks from one web-based platform.

Perhaps the most important aspect of the Twitter workshop is changing the perception of Twitter from a broadcast medium to a search, listening and engagement tool.  People do not want to be sold on social media.  People want to engage.

Google

Our Google workshop focuses on tools provided by Google that help with brand management, content creation, and streamlined productivity.  Everyone has used Google for search, buy how many have set up a Reader account?  Set up Alerts?  Examined the possibilities of Google Voice to manage multiple phones?  Created documents, forms and calendars that are embeddable and shareable?  We barely scratch the surface of Google’s offerings, but the items we cover can have an instant impact on your business.

YouTube

Our Video Blogging workshop is designed with the busy agent schedule in mind.  How can you leverage the power of video easily and quickly?  Very few people have the time to set up a green screen or add fancy post production effects or prepare highly edited stories.  Everyone can use a camera to answer questions, explain a process, or thank a client.  This workshop will walk you through basic shooting, editing and loading to YouTube.  Once on YouTube, you will learn how to tag, embed and share the video across multiple networks.

WordPress

Our WordPress workshop is designed for the real estate professional that already has a WordPress website and needs help working the dashboard, or back end of the site.  WordPress continues to grow in popularity as a platform for real estate websites.  No longer just for bloggers, WordPress is a full web solution for agents with IDX integration, featured listings, lead capture tools and SEO tools.  We cover post creation, adding photos, videos, proper tagging and category usage, and SEO tools within each post.  We also show examples of successful real estate WordPress sites and discuss blogging strategies.

Evernote

Our Evernote workshop introduces the basic function of Evernote, including note creation, notebook and notestack management, and how to manage a real estate transaction within Evernote.  Evernote’s tagline is “Remember Everything” and we will show you the many different ways Evernote fulfills this promise.  Prior to this workshop, please download Evernote to your laptop and bring your laptop to the training.

In our hands-on iPad workshop, we will walk users through keyboard shortcuts, app management and other tips and tricks to make life easier on the iPad.  We also focus heavily on apps specific to the real estate industry.  Special attention is paid to annotating and getting signatures onto documents directly on the iPad.  Buyer tours and contract signatures are covered extensively.

In addition to the above courses, we can prepare custom presentations and workshops as well.  Want a hands-on workshop covering DropBox?  Just ask.  Need a session to cover some of the cool features found in Google Chrome extensions?  We can do it. Your office needs a primer on LinkedIn?  No problem.  Chicago Title wants to be your resource for new media education.
